Not so much about what I’m working on this time as about an upcoming project.
Most recently (Friday, October 1st) I released my 4th book this year, 6th overall, Poems for the Twilight Hours. While I AM working on a new project (or two), I’m also getting prepared for NaNoWriMo 2021.
NaNoWriMo, if you haven’t heard me ramble about it before, is short for National Novel Writing Month and is a great way to give yourself a deadline without only you being in control of it. I’m probably explaining that horribly, but I’m excited and my mind is kind of a blur right now.
nanowrimo.org is where you can sign up, find buddies, find your region, and get a lot of great feedback about things and not feel alone as a writer.
I’ll be working on adding a book to what is going to apparently be a series. Back in 2018 I wrote a story I call “One Rainy Night” about Ellory Fense (but please don’t call him Ellory to his face), the youngest of 5 brothers. The following year I wrote 3 short stories, one about the eldest brother, one about the husband of the 2nd brother, and one about the 3rd brother. This year it’s brother #4’s turn to get a story.
Meet Derek Fense. He's the 4th brother in the Fense family and has always been a lurker. He's known since he was a child that his younger brother, Ellory, will take over their family pack one day. Their oldest brother, Arlow, is anything but thrilled about this while their father could not be happier. Especially when Ellory finds a mate who becomes one of them. But that isn't Derek's story. He doesn't have the friends that Ellory does and he doesn't have a vampire wanting to be his mate at all costs. What Derek does have... Is a dating app.
That’s all I’ve got for the moment about Derek’s story. I don’t even have a title for the story. It’s something I’ve been wanting to write for a while, but I just haven’t gotten to it because I wasn’t sure what his story would have and I’m still fleshing out details, but I’m excited to be writing his story this year.
