I sit here, typing a post to go live in a week and a half and I have no real idea what I should write about.
See, I haven’t really been up to much of anything except work and trying to figure out how to get through everything I need to do on a daily and weekly basis. And surviving what my meds do to me, but that’s nothing to be concerned about.
I’ve been trying to read more. That’s a scary statement from someone who has read, as of the typing of this post, 117 books this year so far.
I have had very little ambition and motivation to get anything done lately, except when I’ve had writing group. One I used to go to I no longer find joy in and one I’ve been going to lately I adore. There will be a new writing group starting up in January, but I don’t know if I will share details on that yet or not. Decision to be determined later.
The good news, for those of you wanting to see more of my books, is that I spent a nice chunk of the day listening to a podcast I adore that focuses on writing. Writing Excuses. Look them up. They’re a lot of fun and the episodes vary around 20 minutes long usually. Catching up on several episodes has me wanting to write, but I also want to read right now.
Another thing lately that has me wanting to write more is I was able to catch up with my friend, Sophia Nye, and talk with her about writing and life and work and basically everything that has happened since the last time she and I got to hang out together.
With any luck I’ll be able to get some projects finished before I initially planned, but the downside of that is that I’ve given up on NaNoWriMo for the season as a writer. I wanted so badly to get through something, but other things have been overwhelming and taking more of my time and brain power than they probably should and that left me with nothing left to plan for NaNo with. For now, my goal is getting into a habit and keeping it going.
I am big on using a calendar and a planner and I’m thinking of ways I can experiment with how to use different calendars better and now I’m wondering just how many calendars I need. Though Vitca did get me a new one for my room. He does that. It’s become a yearly thing now. Specifically the Pusheen calendar. I adore it.
As I bring this post to a close I am now realizing I need to start thinking about my goals for the next year. And that I need to work on my holiday cards…
Peace for now everyone.
